Web browsing & the end of IE
The first free version of the Internet Explorer web browser hit the scene in 1997. Fast forward to about 2025, when Internet Explorer and the current (and last) version, IE 11, will reach its end of support alongside Windows 10. To prepare for the future shift, some companies, like Kronos and Adobe Creative Cloud are proactively moving services away from IE 11 today. However, although Microsoft Edge is the primary web browser, Microsoft will continue to support and patch IE 11 with Windows 10.
A few Perceptive Content power users will need to continue to use IE 11. Other common applications like Banner and Docusign should work with other browsers. If you primarily use IE, OneIT recommends faculty and staff use the latest versions of Google Chrome or Firefox for the best browsing experience.
