Office of OneIT

On January 15, 2020, Chancellor Dubois announced the creation of the new Office of OneIT following two years of assessment led by BerryDunn & Associates. The extensive review of information technology services began after the UNC Board of Governors’ Committee on Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance received the Office of the State Auditor’s findings that described how independently functioning IT units present significant information security management risks. The new, blended OneIT environment, planned to roll out beginning July 1, 2020, will allow information technology at UNC Charlotte to be more efficient, agile, and informed. OneIT will reduce duplication of technologies, provide more significant professional development opportunities, and ensure the IT professionals who follow industry best practices manage IT staff, ultimately reducing risk and increasing security.
