Office 2019 Available for Download!

Note: this information applies to university computers managed by ITS. It does not apply to COE, CCI Macs, Student Affairs Macs and Windows 7 computers.

Office 2019 for Windows and Mac computers is now available through Software Center (Windows) and Self Service (Macs). Office 2019 includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Access. See this Microsoft site for more information about Office 2019.

At this time, it is up to you whether or not you upgrade. Office 2019 offers the latest enhancements from Microsoft but the upgrade is not required.

A couple things to note before upgrading:

  • The upgrade will take approximately 20 minutes to install

  • You will not be able to use Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) while Office 2019 is being installed.

  • The upgrade will remove all older versions of Office (Office 2013, Office 2016) . If you need to use an older version of the software for a specialized reason, don’t upgrade.

MS Project & Visio Users

  • Project and Visio 2019 are not included in this upgrade; if you want the 2019 version of these products, you will need to buy it (see this FAQ). If you want to keep using your current version, you will need to reinstall it through Software Center after the upgrade.

  • If you want to use the 2019 version of Project and Visio, you will need to purchase it by following the instructions in this FAQ.
