Network Services Manager In one sentence – what does your job entail? 24/7 operational support of the UNC Charlotte network. What inspired you to pursue the career you have today? With 17 years working in K-12 for Guilford County Schools, I always wanted to pursue a role in Higher Ed. The public education sector has provided me the opportunity to build relationships with colleagues, interact with customers and the exposure in how technology plays a major role in the education field.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Be a team player in any role throughout your career. Be humble, approachable, and willing to help out!

What is something that might surprise us about you?

I am a huge fan of music and have been playing music for over 20+ years. My wife and I love to travel to new places and experience different cultures. In 2022 we were able to visit Italy and Greece! One of our most memorable trips was to South Africa where we were able to go on a 3 day safari.

What accomplishments are you most proud of? Throughout my career and personal life, I am most proud of the work relationships and friendships that I have made over the years. Those work relationships allowed my colleagues and I to work towards project goals and implementing new technologies. Without those relationships, projects/goals would have been much harder to reach.

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?

Favorite Indoor activity is 100% playing music! Favorite outdoor activity is being at the beach! Give me sunshine and the ocean any day!

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?

My go to is to pick up my guitar and work on new songs that I am writing.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Learn to play more instruments! Piano, stand-up bass, and the banjo to name a few.
